The Organizing Authority (OA) is the Marion-Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race Association, Inc. (MBCYRA). The race is supported by: The Beverly Yacht Club (BYC), Marion, Massachusetts; The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club (RHADC), Paget, Bermuda; and The Blue Water Sailing Club (BWSC), Boston, Massachusetts.

#1 2.4.1 (a) is changed concerning spinnakers.
#2 2.3.1 is changed to refer to USSER 1.0.1 and discuss use of canting keel and moveable ballast.
#3 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 Re-written. At least two members of the crew must hold a World Sailing Approved Offshore Personal Survival Course Certificate.
#4 2.4.1a. Clarified Code 0 sails in inventory. 5.2.2 Clarified that exclusively internet-based safety training will not be acceptable for certification.

Marion Bermuda Race Safety Requirements
Yachts competing in the 2019 Marion Bermuda Race must comply with the safety requirements specified in this document. Every yacht entered in the race is subject to inspection both before and after the race. Failure to be in compliance may result in invalidation of entry or a time penalty.
Any change in an official race document will be posted on our web site and on the Official Notice Board at the BYC or the RHADC as appropriate. Any changes in the Sailing Instructions will be posted by 2000 on the day before they take effect.

Change 17.9.1 Each yacht shall demonstrate that the satellite communication system operates properly by having someone from the yacht’s crew, while on board the yacht, place a satellite phone call to and receive a satellite phone call from the Offshore Communications Team at 508-538-1009. The Offshore Communications Team will be available for the Communications registration daily beginning from 0900 to 1600 Saturday, June 8 until the end of on-site registration.
The skipper and navigator must attend the entire Skipper's meeting from start to finish.
Equipment Inspection Checklist
Before the Race the Skipper shall arrange a mutually acceptable time and place for a mandatory courtesy yacht inspection by a Race Inspector. The initial inspection must be completed by June 5, 2019.
Certificate of Compliance
You must complete this Certificate and file it with the RHADC Duty Desk (Bermuda) in accordance with the time limits described in the Sailing Instructions. Failure to do so may result in a scoring time penalty or disqualification.
Marion Mooring Reservation Form
Use this form to reserve a mooring in Sippican Harbor for the period before the Marion Bermuda Race. The race Harbormaster will coordinate mooring assignments with private moorings, BYC moorings and the two boatyards in Marion. We will be able to accommodate all boats entered in the race.
Bermuda Berth Reservation Form
The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club MARION TO BERMUDA OCEAN YACHT RACE 2019 BERTH RESERVATION FORM is to be used for boats that will request dock space during race week.

Offshore Racing Association - Offshore Racing Rule (ORR)
All yachts must have a current Off-Shore Rating Rule (ORR) handicap certificate that may be based upon either full or partial measurement. We will obtain handicaps directly from US Sailing and will use a Time-on-Time rating customized for the Marion Bermuda Race.
Navigation Rules International - Inland
These Rules are applicable on waters outside of established navigational lines of demarcation. The lines are called COLREGS Demarcation Lines and delineate those waters upon which mariners shall comply with the Inland and International Rules.
