Here are the necessary steps to be taken in order for you to be ready to start on Friday, June 17, 2005.

The sooner you send us your completed Application to Race, the sooner the Selection Committee can review it. When approved, you will be notified and directed to the website page, which will have all the additional information you need for your preparations. "NoR" is our shorthand for the Notice of Race.

Autumn

Begin the process of getting an AMERICAP II™ Certificate/Multihull Certificate.

       
     

2005

Jan/Feb

Send Mooring Space Reservation Form to the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club (RHADC) with deposit. Berths are first-come, first-serve.

March 15

Entry fee goes from $950.00 to $1100.00 as described in NoR 11.

March 26

Attend our Symposium if required by NoR 10k or NoR 10l.

Ensure that you're a member of a national yacht racing authority, per NoR 10i.

April/May

Have your yacht inspected and resolve any shortcomings.

May 1

Last day to elect celestial navigation, as detailed in NoR 13c.

May 5

Crew List of potential crew members with ISAF Sailor's Classification and home towns addresses is due as described in NoR 10c.

May 19

Final Crew list of actual crewmembers is due as described in NoR 10d. No subsequent changes to the crew may be made without the prior written permission of the Selection Committee.

Deadline for our receiving your AMERICAP II™ Certificate, as described in NoR 12.

Classification protest time limit expires at 1800 hrs.

June 14-16

Registration desk is open at hours specified in NoR 15a. We will need:

     
  • the signed Waiver(s) of Liability
  • completed Equipment Inspection Checklist
  • all Life Raft Certificates of Inspection & Compliance
  • the 15 digit international alphanumeric EPIRB's registration number if you haven't sent them to us already
  • verify all crew members names and addresses

Replacement crew members must also sign the Waiver of Liability form. Replacement skippers or navigators require approval of the Selection Committee, as described in NoR 10c.

Check BYC Race Status Board for any changes.

June 16

Attend the mandatory Captains' Meeting at 1700.

June 17

Race day. Check BYC flagstaff for special signals. Monitor VHF channel 69 after 0930. Check in with a "RACE PATROL" vessel in the vicinity of Centerboard Shoal Fl. Red "2" on your way to the starting area.
