Amendment No. 2 Yacht Eligibility and Equipment requirements of Multihull vessels.
Re: Paragraph 7

Section 7, paragraphs a, b, d, e, f, g, h, i, and j from the Notice of Race apply to all yachts, including multihull vessels.

The following paragraph is added:

k) If your vessel is a multihull yacht, it must meet the ISAF Multihull requirements for a Category 1 offshore event, with the following modifications.

3.03 (Scantlings) is waived.

3.07.2 a) (Escape hatches) is modified to require only one hatch for trimarans over 12m.

3.13.1 and 3.13.2 (watertight crash bulkhead) are waived.

3.14.4 c) (lifelines around steering stations on lateral hulls of trimarans) is waived.

3.28.2 and 3.28.3 e) (Engines, generators, fuel) are waived. Fuel tanks for outboard engines must be securely lashed to the boat.

4.26.4 (Storm and Heavy Weather Sails) The requirement for a storm trysail is waived provided that the mainsail can be reefed so to reduce the luff by at least 40% as in 4.26.4 g).

Re: Paragraph 7c

Section 7. YACHT ELIGIBILITY AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS, paragraph 7c, should have referred to paragraphs:

  • 3.03, not 3.03.9 of the ISAF Book
  • and
  • 5.10, not 5.10.1. of the ISAF Book

Please make the corrections in your Notice of Race.
